Breast pump dying -

04-24-08, 11:21 PM

My motor started dying the other day when I was using it I kept thinking it was maybe a problem with the wall outlet I was using or the cord wasn't pushed into the pump enough - nope... definitely dying. I read of this happening to another woman around the same time span of usage (6 months). Totally bummed and annoyed. I went to Babies R Us and they wouldn't help me, told me I had to contact the manufacturer. I contacted Avent and have yet to hear back from them days later, even though their website says 24 response time to inquiries. I need a working pump, so I just went ahead and bought one on ebay. I sure hope the seller ships sooner rather than later.

I'd say if I averaged it all out it might be once or twice a week at most over the last 6 months and that's a high estimate. I'm just annoyed that it happened at all, but also that it's when I need it and that I have yet to hear back from the manufacturer about it.

Yeah... you'd think. And it's not like it was a $30 pump or anything either.

Yeaaah so... I emailed them twice with no response! that's just not acceptable. If I do end up calling them, they're sure to get a piece of my mind.
I'm still waiting for the pump I bought on ebay to arrive too!

Well - worse comes to worse I'll use the pump I have as a manual But my guess (and hope) is that the pump I bought on ebay should be here this week - shipping cost enough, so it better be

The pump finally showed up the other day. I tried it out yesterday and it works, thankfully but seems a lot louder than mine. I decided today to try using the manual pump (mine came with that too, but just never used it). I'm honestly surprised at how efficient it seemed to be compared to the power version. It seemed like I got a lot more out and much faster weird

So I brought the manual pump with me on my quick trip to CA. It did the job. I may at some point down the road (another kid) look into an easier option. Even though I really like the pump I have, there are things that I would definitely change about it.

Pumped a handful of times... joked that I got on the plane with one size boobs and got off with another. And on the way home I had no choice but to pump on the plane! Thankfully it was an overnight flight so people went to sleep pretty fast and we all were given blankets - so that helped.
