Parent & Baby sleep log -

02-10-08, 01:16 PM

After Friday night's rough time trying to sleep, thankfully last night I slept so much better... as did Girlie! Not sure about Josh though. If I had another night like Friday I was probably going to go crazy because I was so exhausted yesterday. Of course at one point last night Josh and I woke up to girlie on her hands and knees bumping her head into the wall

James got a cold, too. In fact, we all did. This has been one looong, miserable week for us.

Sorry everyone is getting sick! *knocks on wood* Don't want to get sick. Last time I got sick I felt miserable.

Last night was a great night for us. Girlie fell asleep around 1030, got fussy around 330 and then was out until 730 when she had a bad dream. She ended up sleeping for another hour after the bad dream though. So a 5 hour stretch of sleep and a 4 hour stretch was very nice

last night was pretty good for us. Got a 5 hour stretch to start, then it was every few hours. no biggie really if she gave us that must to start with

Woke up at one point to see where she was sleeping and noticed she was all the way over next to Josh all snuggled up I thought it was funny and cute but also felt bad for Josh because it meant he had no room to move around. I tried to enjoy my 2/3rds of the bed until she got fussy

I didn't mind, it was nice having her snuggling with me for a while.

Brady slept from 11:30 to 4:30 then once back down until 7. We stayed up until 9 then napped until 10 then finally got up.

Naps have been a bit strange for us lately. she wants to stay awake and play more it seems, which is fine. It's just now a struggle to figure out when she might be ready for a nap, etc. I hate waiting until she's cranky because that's just no fun.

She kept fighting taking a nap earlier and it finally got to the point she was so tired she had had it. She's actually taking an nap in her crib right now. First nap in her crib, I'd guess in probably months!

She slept really good last night. And this was after having not napped at all from 5:15 to bedtime around 10! She slept a lot during the day since we were out visiting my parents and slept in the car everywhere we went (that made for nice driving). Of course even though she slept so good at night, she was wide awake around 6:30 UGH So tired. At least there are decent kids shows on early.

Re: Parent & Baby sleep log -

03-08-08, 12:56 PM

So with our sleeping situation and Sienna becoming more active, even at night sometimes, we found it necessary to figure out an alternative so our sleeping situation was a little safer.
Last night we moved the bedroom around a bit and put the crib right next to my side. Originally I thought we'd put it against the bed but we left about a foot of walking space. I transfered Sienna to the crib once she had fallen asleep by tightly grabbing the receiving blanket I put her on and then lifted her out.
What a great night...
Got to sleep around 11 (or at least she did), then she was up again briefly around 2 or so, then back to her crib and she was out till I think 6:30 which is when I brought her into our bed. That last time the crib monitor/alarm went off because she was curled up in the corner of the bed and not finding her movement - hey at least it works! Of course then she decided to be up permanently once 7 hit. Oh well. It was weird not sleeping with her but she slept really well. Going to try it again tonight.

Re: Parent & Baby sleep log -

well it's not necessarily permanent, but it's a nice option to have. I'm totally fine with her sleeping with us but with how active she gets at night sometimes we feel it could be dangerous if we were not to wake up for some reason when she got active in the middle of the night and crawled the wrong way on the bed.
We'll see how it goes tonight though. My method of lifting her out with the receiving blanket won't work forever, but it should do the trick for now.
Funny thing is the few times when she has slept in her crib, I've had a harder time sleeping those nights because I'm so use to her being right next to me.

Re: Parent & Baby sleep log -

Last night was pretty good too. Everytime I woke up, I had a sip of water so I kept waking up having to pee But Sienna only woke up 3 times I think. She came to bed with us around 6 or so and we finally got up I think around 8.

The funny thing about where we moved the crib to now and how close it is to our bed... kitty keeps sleeping in it when we're not paying attention. So far thankfully he hasn't tried going in there when Sienna has been in it sleeping... I've woken up and seen him sitting on my edge of the bed seemingly contemplating it though

Re: Parent & Baby sleep log -

She did really good last night. In the beginning she was fighting going to sleep and really wanted to play and roll around, but eventually she got the hint it was time to sleep. So around 11 she finally was out and then it was either 1230 or 2 something that she woke up next so I brought her back to bed to pop in a boob. Then off to her crib she went and was there and sleeping good until 8!
I'm still paranoid that kitty is going to try to jump into the crib when she's sleeping in there at night, so I'm not sleeping as soundly as I could be but I really can't complain since I'm getting far more sleep then I did when she was little.
